Everything Went Dark
His gut instincts told him to go South. So that's where he began to run. The sun was starting to rise. People would be up soon. Thankfully, it was still pretty dark outside. It would be difficult to see him running. However, the darkness did make it difficult to see where he was going. Nonetheless, Jack pressed on. He kept running for a while. People could probably see him now because the light of the sun, but he couldn't see any houses nearby. That was a good sign, but he still kept on running.
Speaking of good signs, he ran by a sign that read "You are now exiting Maple Puck, come back again soon!" Jack made a mental note never to go back to Maple Puck. He passed a sign that was welcoming him to Mother Russia. He hoped they weren't alerted of his escape yet. Jack ran by a few more signs. "Beware of Quiet Creek!" "Be careful" "Watch out!" Jack assumed that since he was in an intimidating country that all of the signs to greet travelers into new cities would be a bit threatening also.
He was wrong.
