The Secret Triwizard Challenge
The only way to undo Levicorpus is to use the counterspell, and since the spider can't do magic, it'll be stuck there. You say nothing (Levicorpus is a nonverbal spell), but think Levicorpus! really hard while pointing your wand at the spider.
You spell hits, and one of the spider's ankles (or whatever body part spiders have that are similar enough to ankles) is raised in the air. The spider is still able to reach the ground, but it's pretty stuck. You start to cross the clearing.
However, the spider starts flailing around, and your spell starts to fail. It's much easier to keep a human in the air with Levicorpus than something as big as this spider. You don't know when the spider will fall, but it will eventually.
This leaves you with two choices on how to get across the clearing. You can either walk through the middle of the clearing, which is closer to the spider but is also a shorter path to the exit, or you can skirt the edges, which will take longer but you'll be further from the spider.
How do you cross the clearing?
