The Paradox Factor

You run quickly down the hall and in your haste you trip over a loose rug. Your head bounces off the solid floor and you feel a sticky trickle of blood run down your forehead.

No time. You fling open the exit door and run quickly up the staircase, not hearing footsteps yet, but knowing that they are on the way. He's right behind you!
