I leaned against the wall in one of the empty halls, bringing my radio communicator close to my mouth. The channels were quickly flipped through as I tried to look for the one that seemed as foreign as possible, chewing on my lower lip. Where is he, where is h-

My breath got knocked immediately out of my lungs when someone slammed into me, pushing me a good few feet forwards. I stumbled and turned around quickly, hands palming the blasters on both my hips. My shoulders fell from their tensed pose when my eyes locked with beady, wide brown ones - Navaien.

He was still in the stupid uniform and his hat was askew but I had no energy to argue about it, merely adjusting myself to lean against the wall again. He didn't seem like he was still there with his mind, slowly processing who it was before he snapped back into reality.

"I was looking for you." He said breathlessly, taking in a sharp gasp as he quite lately realized how harshly he bumped into me. I rolled my eyes. "Well, you found me quicker than I found you. Now, you didn't finish."

Navaien was close to asking me what I was talking about, but a good stare down was enough to remind him, starting to type in something on his communicator. The voice that was transmitted for me was indeed General Leia, on a recorded message.

"Why do you record your messages?" I asked, suddenly not questioning why he had come closer to me and how he smelled very heavily of cheap cologne.

"Shh." He whispered, turning his head back to check if someone was coming before the message started.

"..Your mission is of upmost importance, Derny.." Organa seemed frail. She spoke in a way that made me almost worry for the woman. She had lost many things in her life, and if what Derny was saying was true, then she wouldn't risk losing her granddaughter too.

"Bringing her back before the First Order manages to catch wind of her existence is key. I count on you, Navaien." He seemed completely focused on the face of Organa in the hologram, closing his eyes for a moment. I was ready to ask why, but I realized when I saw him mouthing "May the Force be with you" faithfully alongside his leader. I couldn't criticize what he did, truly, when I found myself oftenly citing my father. Not that Leia was something to Navaien other than a mentor, most likely.

He turned off the communicator and stared at me, hands crossed over his chest. "The people in the documents. Did you research them?" He asked, honey eyes looking over my face, as if looking for an answer prematurely.

"Frost says Davshe was good friends with my father," I answer, quietly questioning myself when I became so open with strangers. For some reason, I had a gut feeling about Navaien that he was a good person. "Nothing more than what you told me."

At that, he shrugged, brown locks peeking out from under the hat. He looked ridiculous. "I told you they keep it all under the rug. You can't expect to-"

Sudden voices started sounding in the hallway and I froze, staring down the empty hallway as I heard nearing footsteps. Rose.

"She can't see me here." He whispered, almost panicked, frantically turning his head. I bit on my lip.
