Gone

You go grab your bag that was in you locker, and rush to math class. You get to the class just as the bell rings, and wait for the teacher to arrive.

You go through 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th period like a zombie. You are tired, but excited to tell Lilliana about your date to Prom. When the lunch bell finally rings, you grab your stuff and dash out of the classroom. You half jog to your locker to grab your lunch box. One thing that you have learned is that you don't want to mess with the cafeteria food. It is fake, and playing soccer for your club team and high school team you don't want to take the risk of getting food poisoning before the championships two days after Prom. As you get closer to the cafeteria, you can smell the gross meatloaf and gravy each time a kid opens the door. You rush to the back of the cafeteria where all of your friends are sitting.

"Hey," you say as you get closer to the table. It seems like you always say hey when you are walking up to one of your many friends.

"What is up?" asks Lilliana

"Acually can I talk to you Lilliana?" you ask.

She looks at some of your friends that are sitting at your table, and then gets up to walk with you to a private corner of the cafeteria.

"Is everything ok?" asks Lilliana.

"More than okay," you answer excitedly. "The bell was about to ring, and..." you pause for a dramatic effect, "JOHN ASKED ME OUT TO PROM!" you exclaim in a loud voice.

"Some kids that are in ear shot of you shout turn there heads to look at you. Your face immediately turns red.

"WHAT!" exclaims Lilliana, "I knew he would ask you!"

"I know! I am so excited!" you answer.

"Do you know what you are going to wear?" asks Lilliana.

"I think that I am going to wear a long blue dress with lacy sleeves, with silver heels. Does that sound good?" you ask.

"Perfect. I am going to wear a long red dress, with golden heels. Good?" she asks in return.

"Perfect," you answer, "Let's go eat lunch.

After you finish your lunch, you walk into the locker room to change for PE. Then, out of the side door walks Tanya. She looks mad.

"I know that you where in the bathroom eavesdropping on my conversation this morning," states Tanya.

You look down at your white converse and say, "I wasn't in the bathroom this morning. Why would you think that?"

She can tell that you are intimidated by her, but you don't let it get the best of you

"Well, one of my friends said that she saw you coming out of the bathroom right behind me. What did you hear?" Tanya demands.
You decide that you aren't going to tell her everything that went on in the bathroom, so you just lie.

"I wasn't in a bathroom at all this morning. She must have seen another person that looked like me. Take Madeline for example. Maybe it was her," you suggest.
Madeline was a sort of close friend with Tanya, and she looked almost exactly like you, if you where far away. Madeline hated you ever since you "stole" John from Tanya.

Tanya seemed satisfied with what you just stated, and responded, "Fine. I will ask her. But if she tells me that she was not in the bathroom this morning, then you will have an issue with me."

You think, I already have an issue with you, but you bite your tongue.

Once the last bell rings, you realize that you did not vote for the Prom theme. You walk to the front office and see Lilliana in there as well.

"Forgot to vote at lunch?" she asks.

"Yep. I was so wound up about John asking me to go with him to Prom, that I forgot about voting," you answer. Then a thought hits you, "Do you think that Tanya has been acting weird lately. She seems mysterious and dark to me," you ask Lilliana.

"She seems like the same weird and creepy Tanya that she has always been," Lilliana answeres.

"Here you go ladies," the lady behind the desk says to you and Lilliana as she hands you the ballots.

Then you relize that the usal person that is sitting behind the desk is not there.

You ask, "Where is Mr. Mendez?"

"We don't know. He also went missing two nights ago. I am Mr. Brun, and I will fill for him until he is found," Mr. Brun answers.

Something is off, and you have a great feeling that Tanya was involved.

You look at the choices, and decide that Under the Sea was really cool.

Lilliana is talking with Andrew, he also forgot to vote, as you walk out of the office so you give them a little wave goodbye. When you get home after soccer practice, you try to focus on homework, but the conversations with Tanya keep popping up in your head. Who is she, and who is him? You finally finish your homework, and look at your clock. It is one o'clock in the morning. You have to get up for school at six, so you crawl into bed without taking a shower after soccer, and still in your dirty soccer clothes.

The rest of the week goes by so slow that you think the week will never end. Prom is on Saturday night, and it feels like it would never come.

Finally, Saturday night rolls around and you are ecstatic.
