Cartonia
You come at the group from behind. The first two go down before anyone realizes what is happening, their broken necks and limp bodies warn the third assailant that somthing is happening. Before he can react you jab him in the throat hard enough to crush his wind pipe. It a move someone with merely human streangth could never accomplish. As he falls down chocking to death you move on to the trios victim.
“Thank you!” He begins profusely, “Thank you! I don’t know what I would have done if you...” you cut him off with a swift kick to the stomach. He barely has time to get out an oof before you kick him in the head hard enough to snap his neck.
“Can’t leave any witnesses.” You say by way of explanation to the corps. You decide you like bloodshed, yes it was no mistake you killed your maker. You go on to kill more people being careful to spread out your killings and target vulnerable uncared for populations such as the homeless, prostitutes, or those involved in drugs. Your killings go unoticed.
One day while walking by an alliance store you see a news report about the game Cartonia, you remember the strange headsets that are required and wonder how they might be related to you and the object you saw before in your abdomen. You decide to investigate and begin at the place you were made. Returning you find the building looks abandoned. You check as thoroughly as you can but find no signs of surveillance anywhere around the building. Eventually you enter.
Inside the place looks long abandoned, far more then the time might account for. It seems fairly clear that some effort has been made to make it look like the building has not been used in many years. You perform a thorough search anyway and you hard work is rewarded when you discover a hidden basement.
You are stunned by what you find inside. There is a large stone like the one in your chest although this one is perhaps car sized where yours had been fist sized. Many thick wires run from and too the stone. Examining the room further you find a dusty shelf with manuals and find a section describing how to splice in an interface for it.
You find the correct line leading into it and opening the outer black insulation find three wires. The manual warns to avoid the red as it is a very high voltage line and will likely shift out any low voltage electronics. Yikes, that could have been bad!
You manage to connect yourself to the green wire creating a warm and pleasant flow of energy into yourself. You then go to splice the blue one, which should allow you to interface with the being. Perhaps he can provide answers for you.
You feel your world melt away and you feel yourself floating in a white infinite world of nothing.
“Welcome to the world of Cartonia!” A voice intones. Is this the game you saw before? Have they created an automated version of his own mind?
“Would you like to perform entrance performance tests? These may lead to increased abilities, not performing them will leave you with basic entry level stats but do well in as many categories as possible to increase your starting ability.” Two icons appear above you. Should you press yes or no?
