A Tale of Two Choices

"When I clap my hands, you will awake and not remember this converstion. But remember, you hate Ernest Hobson." And with that, Edmund clapped his hands.

Within the next hour the Ball had begun and there was much dancing and merriment. Ernest Hobson was there with his pretty young bride, Flora, Charles's old flame. Ernest was holding court with the guests around him, regaling all with his adventures whilst on Honeymoon in Venice.

Charles held out two glasses of wine to the Hobsons. "Here, drink this," he indicated to Ernest in a slightly robotic voice.

Ernest and Flora both took a glass from Charles and drank.
