The Lonesome Adventurer

Realizing that whatever was at your door might be trying to get in from somewhere else, you bolt towards the window in your kitchen and latch it, moments before a dark, ghost-like figure with blazing orange eyes appears, startling you so much that you fall on your back to the floor. The mysterious creature stands there staring at you for what seems like several minutes, but in reality it is only a few seconds. Then it disappears, bringing you back to your senses, reminding you of the fact that it is trying to get into your house. You try to get up to finish securing all the doors, but your back is really messed up and you can't walk.
