The Lonesome Adventurer
You start crawling towards your back door, thinking that if you lock the door it might buy you some time to fix your back. You get about 5 feet when you hear the door slowly creak open, then silence. Your blood turns to ice as you see the creature slowly comes around the corner and looks down at you for a long moment, possibly taking pity on you. That thought is immediately proved wrong as the creature picks you up (without even touching you somehow), lays you in the basement, and rips a section of one of the exposed pipes on the wall off so that water starts pouring into the room. “So that’s it, you’re just going to leave me hear to drown?” you yell, trying to sound brave but your voice breaks a bit in the middle. The creature just turns around and walks up the stairs, seemingly incapable of showing any pity or compassion whatsoever. The water at this point is about 3 or 4 inches deep and getting higher by the second. The piece of broken pipe is too high to reach and plug with something, which leaves you with trying to climb the stairs and get to higher ground. You move towards the stairs which is now made easier because of the amount of water in the room, which gives you the idea to float to the door instead of climbing the stairs. When you get to the door you try to open it and realize that it’s locked and the spaces in the inbetween the door and the doorframe are sealed, which means that the water level will just get higher instead of flowing out of the cracks. When the water reaches the ceiling you take your last breath and are forced to go under, your lungs screaming for air until you can’t hold your breath any longer.
