The Door

Bradley runs down the passage, hoping that his torch will last long enough to light his way out of this place of horror.

He is running blindly now, not even thinking about where his feet are taking him.

He runs into something soft, yet solid and feels a rough hand tangle in his hair. His face smashes into a wall and he can feel his nose burst into a fountain of blood.

He kicks backwards and connects with whatever it is that is attacking him. He hears a grunt of pain and turns to prepare for another attack.

He sees a two-headed lumbering creature in front of him and realizes that it's his twin brothers, Tom and Terry. They don't appear to have changed much, other than now being forced to share the same body.

Tom and Terry, nicknamed the "Terror Twins" by the neighbors and town folk. Both boys were insufferable bullies with a fondness for fire. Not just little fires, but big ones, like the four-story apartment building they torched for the fun of it. That's the day they tried to throw him into the inferno but he managed to get out. Bradley had been taken to the hospital for burns and smoke inhalation. He had also been blamed for setting the fire, but because he was "slow" he had been sent to the mental ward for "treatment" instead of being sentenced to a juvenile detention center.

"Whoa ho! What have we here? It looks like our favorite brother has come to play." That was Terry, no doubt about it. They were identical twins but Terry was the speaker of the two, always had been.
