The Haunting of Lake Side Cemetery

Slinging the duffel over one shoulder you go to the fence, it takes you about ten minutes and you feel a lot like that kid in Jurassic Park, but you make it over.

Out of breath and with your feet stinging from the landing you take a look around. Is it darker inside the boundaries of the cemeter or is it your imagination?

You hear wind whispering through the trees and scurrying that sounds like animals. The animals noises calm your heart, which has begun to beat a bit faster. Taking a deep breath you scold yourself. This isn't the first "haunted" place you've been to and it won't be the last. The readers of your blog AFTERLIFE expect the goods and you will give them the goods.

You can already see a ton of graves- many flat and from the last decade. Lake Side has only been in disuse for six years after all. Some are larger and older but you didn't come for them. You want the really old one, in the middle of the place. The ones that have been here for a century. From all the rumors that's where the stories lie.

It's the end of September so the leaves are changing and there is a bit of cold in the air, but not too much. You've already decided to see if you can get into the care-takers house and set up a base camp of sorts. Illegal? Sure- but the idea of camping out among the dead and possibly freezing is less appealing then a small B and E.

You are on the main path and it splits in three different directions. You know you have a good six hours of daylight left. Pulling out a granola bar you stop to decide which path to take. Right- which you know leads to the house. Left- which will take you towards the area of the cemetery that connects with the lake. Center- the heart of the cemetery itself.
