Out of Time
You see a flash of light, and just as quickly, you are standing on the porch of Roderick's home. You realize this is another memory. You glance at you clothes and notice you are wearing exactly the same clothes as the night you were there. Good, no one will realize you aren't their Amara as long as you don't get caught with your past self. You carefully walk around the porch with your head held low, hoping not to draw too much attention, but it doesn't work.
You turn to hear a shout behind you. "Hey! You made it," Dean greets you, wrapping you in a giant bear hug. "I didn't think you would show up 'cause of Natalie's birthday and all.
"Yeah," you lie, "We already hung out today. It's all good."
"Cool cause for a second I thought you were going to ditch her. That would be cold."
"Yeah..." a pang of guilt smacks you in the face, but you continue. "We skipped school and went to Preston's Pizza. Best pizza in California!" You try to play it off cool with a forced smile, but is is starting to fade away.
Dean believes your lie and notices your current mood, but he just suspects it is because you are tired from all of the celebrating.
"Well, I'm glad you still came even though you're all partied out." His eyes quickly leave your gaze and become focused on a point behind you. "Hey, have you met Doug...''
You two spend the night walking around the house and talking until it seems like you know the place top to bottom. However, something still bothers you. Guilt. All night, you've been fidgeting, but you could never figure out why. It's because of the guilt, the guilt of not going to Natalie's party. You try to hide this feeling of shame until it becomes too much for you to handle. You need to tell someone else.
