Out of Time
Certain your doppelgänger is nowhere in sight, you find Dean on the back of the porch and approach him. "Do you ever feel like you're going crazy?"
"What type of question is that? Especially at a party." He gives you a weird look.
"I'm serious. Have you ever felt that way?"
"No." He turns to talk to someone else. He clearly thinks you're crazy.
"Dean, I think I'm going crazy." You whisper into his ear. He ends the conversation and turns his attention towards you.
"What do you mean?"
"Just, things have been so weird lately. I feel like I'm trapped all of the time because people are keeping things from me," Dean starts to get nervous. He starts to remove his arm. "I just wish people would tell the truth for once."
"Sometimes I feel that way too."
"What do you do to deal with it?"
"You forget about all the mistakes you're making and try to live in the moment." He turns away from you. He's keeping something from you and you know it. He turns back. "How 'bout I get us some more pizza." You nod innocently enough, realizing he isn't going to listen to you. At least you know he's trying to hide something. Dean walks away.
A girl approaches you suddenly, you remember her name is Aubrey.
"He's cheating on you." She states bluntly.
"What?"
"With this girl Lindsey, they've been 'hanging out' together for weeks. I just thought you should know." You believed it. When you found out in the real world you probably didn't want to, but here you do. Dean is a shady person, there was no avoiding that anymore.
"What should I do?" You ask yourself out loud. Aubrey takes it as a question directed at her.
"Break up with him, they are so many other great guys out there that don't act like they're wholesome sliced bread all the time when they're actually a wasp." She walks away.
"Aubrey, thank you." She nods, but doesn't respond.
