Out of Time

You find yourself back in the hospital room, peering over your lifeless body.
You become engulfed in a wave of thoughts. What on earth is going on? What is happening to me? Why am I like this? What have I done to deserve this? You begin to rethink the strange memory. Suddenly, your memories of that night begin to swirl around you like wind in hurricane, and in this hospital, you are standing in the eye of the storm. You begin to remember the tears running off of Natalie's face, the sluggish stride of your best friend walking in the opposite direction as you return to you car. You remember the disappointment in Natalie's face, your best friend's face, the face of the person who has defended you and been by your side for as long as you can remember. A change of mind hits your face like a brick wall.

Man, I really messed up. Who's best friend ditches you on your birthday for some strangers party? You feel a lurch in your gut as regret and disappointment fills your stomach, tempting your to vomit. I'm a horrible friend. No wonder she wanted to kill me.
