Gotham's Story
You have been preparing for this day for a long time. An embarassingly long time.
Ever since an invincible Kryptonian appeared in the sky, professing his allegiance to truth and justice, you have been readying yourself in case you were needed to stop him. It has taken time, but finally you have him right where you want him.
Superman appears like a bullet in the sky, and you know he is using his X-ray vision to attempt to find you. With his nearly limitless array of powers, Clark has never been able to understand the abilities of those who are bound to the ground. Right on cue, your guided missles become activated by the x-ray radiation and pelt the Kryptonian. He is merely delayed, but you are nowhere near finished. He lands in the alley to see you decked out in the most armored and reinforced exosuit that you have ever made.
"You don't have to do this, Bruce." he reaches for you in some sort of fraternal gesture.
"You know that's not true." you rebuke him. "Let's get this over with."
For a brief moment, Clark has a look of determined resignation, then he disappears.
He has a hold of you before you can even register and rips the metal helmet of of your head as if it is paper. God, it still shocks you, how inhuman he is, but you ready your next step. With the Suit already plugged into Gotham's power, you discharge the entire city's power into him. He stumbles back and looses his grip on you. Not missing your advantage, you whip out your sonic gun from its holster and fire it at Clark's face. Even with the sound dampening plugs in your ears, your head is throbbing. You wonder how much it is killing his 'super-hearing.'
"You're getting slow in your old age, Kent," you yeall over the noise. "I thought your were faster than the speed of sound."
Clark angrily begins to stand and advance towards you. Its too late, however. Your next, planned attack is already triggered. A green arrow flies across the rooftops, aimed for Superman's head. With inhuman speed, Clark catches it midflight, but it explodes in a shower of green dust. He is immediately aware of Kryptonite when he sees it.
"Now let's fight like men." You announce as your heart skips a beat.
Damn, you don't have much longer.
You hook him in the cheek with your fist and make him stagger.
"As you look back at this day, Clark-"
You place a side-kick to his chest and send him into the wall of a building.
"-I want you to remember-"
You kick his gut hard, before he can get up.
"-Never forget-"
You grab him by the collar of his shirt and bring him to eye level.
"-That it was me, who beat you."
Even as you see his eyes fade in and out of consciousness, pain rocks your body and you are brought to your knees. Clark raises an arm, in a feeble and misguided attempt to catch you, and your heart stops.
