Journey

Laying on his belly, he spots a large log to his left out the corner of his eye. He is able to get a clear enough view of it to see that it is hollow, and he may be able to fit inside and hide from the men after him. Slowly, crawling, he makes his way towards the log.
Footsteps, crunching, voices. The people from the tower were closing on his location. He could see flickering light begin surrounding him. Slowly crawling, he approached the log, and pulled himself inside.
'This way,' called out one of the men from the tower.
'He can't have gotten far.'
'I'm gone down to the waters. Maybe 'e tried to get away down that way,' called out another.
'The boss won't like that,' replied the first man.
'Well you don't tells 'er, aye?'
'She will wonder where you got to.'
'Tell 'er I supsected 'e went this way.'
'Okay, Lyle. But hurry. You know how the boss gets.'
'Aye,' responded the now identified Lyle. A bit of a lights half off kind of man.

The hooded man still had no idea how many were in the tower. He had counted three before he broke away and hid. If he came out now, he would be unsure there aren't more waiting for him. Although, Lyle seemed to be traversing the bushes alone. He had a few options presented before him. But what to do...
