The Darkness Consumes What's Left Of My Soul

You continue towards the iron door and slowly open it, peeking around the heavy metal. The crying got louder and clearer, but you couldn't see anything or anyone in the room with you. You walk into the room, scanning the barren space for any life at all. The door slams shut behind you, and you run back to the door, and start pounding on the door and scratching at the handle, but to no avail and your fists start bleeding. You turn around just in time to see the glimpse of a black wisp behind a small child. The child turned around to face you. They had tears streaming down from their green lifeless orbs, and their tanned skin was tinged pink from crying for so long. Their brown hair was matted, as if they hadn't washed or brushed their hair in weeks. “Can you please help me, sir?” He asked meekly, holding his arms close to his chest. You felt sorry for the child, even in your horrendous state. “I…” you thought for a moment. You hesitated because when you were younger your mom always took you to parks and you always had fun but one day you saw a child swinging from a swing set and she fell off and got stuck on a fence. She asked you for help but you ran away. That same very child reminds you of the person in front of you. You sighed, looking away. “Sure.” You walked closer, and the child smiled softly as if they never experienced happiness. “Thank you…” he said. You smiled a bit. “But you were too late for me.” The child said, a thousand voices backing his statement. His eyes widened turning black, and a dark substance leaked down his cheeks instead of the once clear tears. You stepped away, taken aback. The child floated in the air, giggling madly. It's small bones twisted and contorted into shapes no one should ever see. You yelled, swiftly running back to the door to desperately find a way out. You turned back just in the knick of time to see it’s skin rip to reveal a black being inside of it all misshapen. His tanned skin melted away and disintegrated to make way for your demons. The demon smiled widely, revealing a white array of crooked teeth. Your eyes widened, and you backed up against the door. You see a small, square door behind the being that hadn't been revealed until now.
