Summer fun
Danny looked a little perplexed as he read from the random piece of paper he had selected.
“Explore …... the inside of a shoe?? Who the heck wrote this one?” Danny asked.
“Oh, that one was mine. It was kinda just running out of ideas by the end there...heh” Sam admitted.
“None of us brought along our shoes though.” Justin mentioned as he looked over towards his idle flipflops; one of which still had the tattered remains of the miniaturized tent glued to it's bottom.
“errr I guess I could go downstairs and grab mine....” Danny hesitantly offered. The teen didn't know how to feel about letting his shrunken friends explore the inside one of his sneakers.

Walking over to the shoe-bin by the front door, Danny picked up his old vans. The pair had certainly seen better days. The rubber soles were beginning to peel off and both insoles was totally worn out and funky looking.
(“Errr... I think I'd kinda feel bad dropping them into one of these...”) Danny thought to himself as he took note of the pungent scent emanating from within.
It was then that the teen noticed something else by the shoe bin.
Danny looked down and saw his younger brother's brand new sneakers. He was there when the nine year old picked them up at the mall a few days ago.

After glancing back over at his tattered vans, it became obvious what the right decision was.
[A few moments later]
Danny walked back into the room holding one of the black,yellow, and red sneakers in his right hand.
“Here, you guys can use this” Danny mentioned as he dropped the sneaker onto the floor with a thud.
“Haha, isn't this your little brothers? Looks kinda small...” Tim mentioned as he picked up the shoe and examined it closely, inside and out.
“Yeah, he just got a new pair few days ago. They've still got that new sneaker smell so you guys shouldn't suffer too much haha.” Danny chuckled. Just the context of what he had just said felt totally surreal to him.
“Oh... good call..” Tim stated, remembering how ratty and old Danny's vans were.
-a few moments later-
“So uh...you guys sure you still want to do this?? We can still just call it off if you want..” Danny asked as he stood anxiously on the far side of the room with the ray gun in hand.
“Oh come on! Just do it already!” Justin whined impatiently as he stood hand-in-hand with Tim and Sam on the opposite end of the room.
“Dude, don't worry about it, we'll be fine!....probably..” Sam chimed in.
“If we feel like calling it all off, we'll just call up to you. Alright?” Tim reassured.
“A-alright cool........uh........I guess I'll shoot on three then..” Danny gulped as he lifted the device up towards his friends.
“O-one...................two.....................................THREE!” Danny closed his eyes as he pulled the trigger.
The trio vanished instantly. The three boys had pretty much flickered out of existence before Danny's very eyes.
Holding his breath, the nervous teen carefully took a few steps forward to where his friends hand been standing. Looking down towards the carpet, Danny began to scan across beige fibers.

“Oh my god.....” Tim's heart was already racing as he looked upwards and took in the unfathomable size of Danny's bedroom.
“W-wow, so this is what it's like to be a bug...huh......” Sam spoke shakily. It was a little more unnerving than he had expected that it was going to be.
“WOOOAAH, this is insane!!!” Justin yelled.
The three boys were standing hip-deep in the thick stringy carpet fibers around him. It was as if they had been transported to a vast field of sandy wheat.
"Wait..hold on... I don't remember Danny being THIS small when he got shrunk earlier...." Tim suddenly noticed. Danny had appeared to be around maybe two inches tall, but right now the three of them were currently wading in the carpet fibers, meaning that they must have been only a half an inch or so.
A large tremor caused the tiny trio to refocus their attention to Danny who was now slowly making his way towards them.
The boys began waving and yelling as Danny's eyes started to scan over the portion of the carpet where they were standing.
“HAHA!!! CHECK US OUT DUDE!!!” Justin yelled out excitedly. His playful banter quickly subsided as Danny's eyes passed right over the three of them without even the slightest sign of acknowledgment.
“Wait, where the heck are you guys??” Danny muttered under his breath as he took another step forward.
“WAIT DUDE! WE'RE RIGHT HERE!!!!!” Tim yelled to his giant friend who seemed to have already determined they were further ahead.
The trio could do nothing but watch in horror as Danny's massive bare feet approached. The shadow of their giant friend eclipsed them in darkness as Danny's right foot began to lift into the air, right over their location.
