The Story of A Chinese-American (ACWM)

You and your brother decide to work in the mines, where at least you can get a steady pay. After several months of working in the mines, you become familiar with a Protestant missionary who preaches to the mining crew every Sunday. His Chinese is decent, and you begin attempting to learn English with the missionary when you have time. After a few months, the missionary tells you he admires your work ethic, and as he has decided to return to his family in Rhode Island, he asks if you'd like to come help him on his family farm. He can't offer as much pay as the mine, but he promises to help you with your English.

Do you stay at the mine or travel to Rhode Island with the missionary?
