You hurry over and take a seat next to Colin and watch the rest of the ceremony.
As the ceremony concludes, you find that you have 8 new Gryffindor members, all of whom seem very friendly.
Not long after greeting the new students, Dumbledore stands and you quickly find your seat awaiting his words.
"Welcome students of Hogwarts," the wise wizard begins, "before we begin the feast, I have a few announcements that need to be made. First and foremost, I must ask if you see any strange happenings during your time here, that you notify one of your professors immediately. Please do not be startled. I am not expecting much trouble, as Hogwarts is as safe as it has ever been. But, as you probably have heard, the dark lord has returned. It is with extreme importance that you practice caution in your day-to-day activities as the year progresses. Secondly, I would like to inform you that Cornelius Fudge, Minister of Magic, will be joining us on Monday as Hogwarts is due to receive it's bicentennial review. I trust that you will be on your best behavior while our visitor will be sitting in on a few of your classes. On that note, let us celebrate yet another upcoming year at Hogwarts."
As Dumbledore finishes his last statement, he lifts his hands in the air and the tables are immediately filled with mounds of appetizers, entre's and deserts.
As you eat, you begin to become worried as neither Ron nor Hermione have yet arrived at the Great Hall. Where could they be?
After you finish your satisfying meal, Professor McGonagal approaches. "Harry, I need you to come with me," she insists. "Professor Dumbledore has asked me to escort you to Gryffindor Tower. He says that you need your rest."
