"Magic? So... you're saying I found a magic crystal and it transported me here? But why? Is that all it does? Why did it do it just then?" You are bursting with questions. Hyri smiles at your eagerness, leaning back against his boulder and interlacing his fingers thoughtfully. "Magic is a strange force, and one that follows very few laws. I'm only a wanderer, and I don't generally mess with such things, but if you're looking to find out more about this bauble of yours, I would suggest taking it to a wizard. A real one, not one of those travelling-show fakes."
Your face falls as you suddenly remember.
"But Hyri... I don't even know where I am anymore. What is this country? Is it even in my world? Can I ever get back?" A sudden wave of loneliness overcomes you and you look away, letting your curtain of silky black hair shadow your face to hide the tears that spring, unbidden, to your eyes.
Hyri leans forward, a look of genuine concern in his hazel eyes. "Miria, please don't worry. I promise, I will help you find your way back. Please don't cry!" His voice is honest and reassuring.
