A Harry Potter Adventure
You say goodbye and begin to walk toward the extravagant castle, more commonly known as Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
You enter the castle doors and find the familiar moving staircase you have climbed so many times. You head up the stairs and go down a long corridor to the entrance just outside Dumbledore's office.
You remember that you do not have the password to gain entry. As if something had just read your mind, the castle wall blocking your way begins to slowly open up revealing the staircase that will lead you to Dumbledore's office.
You climb the staircase and reach a door. You knock on the door and hear Dumbledore's friendly voice within, "The door's open... Harry."
You turn the knob and step into Dumbledore's familiar office. You find Dumbledore sitting behind his desk flipping through the latest edition of The Daily Prophet. Fawkes is nearby sitting on his perch gleaming with beautiful red, orange, and yellow colors.
"Come and sit down with me," Dumbledore says to you as he glances up from his newspaper and looks at you with the wisest and friendliest eyes you will ever see.
You go over to the chair that is placed across from his desk and sit down.
"Dumbledore," you begin, "on the list of books I've received, it said to purchase a defense book for year 7. I thought it might have been a mistake, but since the list came from you, I figured I had better get the one you said."
"Harry," Dumbledore replies, "that is just why I called you here today. To your misfortune I'm afraid, there are some perils you may be faced with during your upcoming year at Hogwarts. Voldemort is growing stonger everyday. I see the signs, as I read the newspaper, that his evil reign is drawing ever closer. Therefore, it is my duty to be sure you are well trained in your defense techniques. I know how well you've done in past years concerning this subject, and I fully believe that not only are you ready, but that it is imperative for you to study advanced Defense Against The Dark Arts. That is why I asked you to retreive a 7th year copy and that is also why I will be training you in Defense Against The Dark Arts myself this year."
As he says this, your spirits rise and fall to extreme lengths. What does he mean "you may experience some perils?" Dumbledore is actually going to teach you advanced defense himself? What kind of things lie ahead for you this year?
"Harry," Dumbledore continues, "Professor McGonagal is waiting for you just outside my office. She will take you to the Great Hall where the other students have already gathered awaiting the sorting ceremony and the feast. Or if you'd prefer, you may head up to Griffyndor Tower to unpack your things and get some shut-eye. I know you've had a long day. I myself, must be heading down to the Great Hall to welcome everyone back and make a few announcements. I will be seeing you soon." Dumbledore turns and leaves through a secret passageway behind his desk.
You walk back down the stairs that lead to the office and outside you find Professor McGonagal awaiting your presence.
