Amnesia the dark descent part 1

it was a hallway a long hallway leading to a stange contraption but then I heard voices one was mine another was alexander "what does this contraption do?" I asked. "It lifts you up or down by a pull of a lever I call it an elavator." "amazing" I replied. I went inside the elavator and pulled the lever it did not do anything. I left the elavator and went towards a door that led to the machine room I opened it but it wouldnt budge. I went up the stairs and went into the guest room. It looked like someone was here recently I looked around and found a note it said the machine room key is in here. I looked around and found a crowbar. I used the crowbar to open the door in here.
