The Star of Egypt

You step inside the familiar antique shop, and the old man dusting a rocking chair looks up.

"Carol, dear!" Arthur Hughes steps towards you with a welcoming smile. "What can I do for you?"

"Hello, Mr. Hughes." You smile back tentatively. "I, um, I'd like to ask you a few questions, if you don't mind." Geez, you think. Could I be any more obvious?

"Sure thing, dear." Arthur sets his rags down on a table. "What about?"

"I, uh-" Just say it, Carol. "I'm afraid Pavel passed away last night."

Arthur starts before he turns to look at you with compassion in his eyes. "Oh, honey. I'm so sorry to hear that. How are you holding up?"

"I've been better," you admit. "The police say he was poisoned, and they arrested Dmitry, even though he's obviously he's innocent."

"Oh my," Arthur says as he steps forward to put a hand on your shoulder. "Carol, if there's anything I can do-"

"Of course." You smile reassuringly and prepare your first question.
