Bernice crouched behind a fallen log that lay between two huge trees. The moonlight reflected off of the armored soldier's guns, making flashes of light appear and disappear all over the place. If it were a different time, the forest would have been a romantic spot for her and...
"Alright, everybody, here's the plan: Bernice, flank the squad to the left and move up behind" Alex's voice cut into her thoughts, bringing her back to reality. "Morgan, follow her and provide cover until you're on the left. I'm going in from the right flank. David, you get to do the fun part." His voice was quiet so that the soldiers wouldn't hear him speaking.
"Roger," Bernice said, shaking her head to rid herself of the thoughts, and ran up further. She was now withing ten yards of the squad's left flank.
"Covering," Morgan said as she followed the CASE DM's reading for Bernice. Alex moved up on the right, crouching behind a tree.
"In position," Morgan said behind Bernice. She used the luminescent sights on the back of the slider to sight one of the soldiers.
"David, where the hell are you? Get your ass up to the front line and open fire on my mark." Alex's voice came again.
"Roger." David moved up.
"Set targets...fire!" Alex said as he jumped from cover. Bernice shot her target three times, the suppressed pistol almost completely silent. David's huge machine guns barked as they spat rounds into the men, sending blood and bark and screams into the air. Then, just as quickly as it had started, the shooting stopped and the forest was silent again. Bernice unlocked her empty clip, stole a full one from one of the soldiers's bodies, and locked it into the M2F.
"More bogeys on the way," Morgan's voice said. "They heard the fire. What should we do?"
