Will stood at the door and watched as Ray, his squad leader, ran past him. He followed Ray up to the steps and pulled him aside.
"Sir, what are my orders?" Will yelled over the sound of running, talking people.
"Get topside and see if you can find our heavy gunner!" Ray yelled back, looking down the hallway.
"Yes, sir!" Will ran up the stairs into the night air. Everything was strangely quiet outside, except for the slight noise coming from under the base. Michael was standing at the gate to his tower, so Will ran up to him.
"Hey, Mike! Ray said to find you. Let's get back to him!"
"Roger," Mike said, and followed Will back toward the stairs. However, Ray and Jack came up and stopped them.
