Worlds Apart
The woman looks like she wants to argue with you, indecision passing over her face. Finally, though, she gives a sharp nod. "Very well. I do not have time to argue - although I am not sure how happy I am to have one of those... things... here."
The Guardian narrows his eyes at the woman. "Do you believe I'd betray this facility? That I'd turn my back on the oaths I've taken?"
The woman stares at the Guardian with hard eyes. "And what if those oaths were to divulge? If you had to follow one path or the other, which would you choose? The Emperor or this facility? You only have a small understanding of the big picture here, Calen." She says the name with a sneer.
The Guardian stares at the woman, his face unchanging. "I would choose the path that is right," he says finally. "You should learn more about others before you begin making rash judgments of their character." He speaks calmly, with the tone of voice you'd imagine a parent would use with an errant child.
It looks like it takes a great effort, but the woman finally calms down. She turns to you with a face that is completely blank and inclines her head slightly. "My apologies to you for bringing personal feelings into this situation."
