The Island of Destiny
You walk down the path a ways, the lantern giving you little light in this dark place. There is a period where you begin to become very claustrophobic and as the walls squeeze in on you, you begin to fear reaching a dead end. But then the walls begin to open up again and in a few moments, the cave spreads out again and you follow the tunnel a little more relaxed.
Several minutes later, as you're beginning to get caught up in the monotony of the darkness, you see another light up ahead. It is a torch attached to a cave wall. Damn, dead end! Regardless, you quicken your pace and soon you see some colors up ahead. As you near them, you see that there are three colored squares. A few steps more and you find that they are multi-colored squares, a few more and the colors become pictures.
Pictures of people.
You approach the three pictures, paintings actually, and stand in front of them to observe. They are of a bearded man, a sad-looking woman, and a young girl with a bow in her hair. They are all which appear extremely pale, but you can't tell if that's just because of the age of the canvas. A shiver runs down your spine. There are no plaques, commemorations, or any words to be seen at all to explain these paintings' placement deep in this cave. Or their existence at all, you think.
You stare at the paintings a while longer. Then, you feel something. Almost like...another presence is in the tunnel with you. You spin around, wheeling the lantern in front of you, but see nothing. You stop and listen, but hear nothing. Then you understand something.
One of the paintings was just calling to you. Before you turn around and look at them again, why don't you decide which one it was?
