Forest Dweller

You break the spell, realizing you only have a small amount of power left. Veneshia's eyes dart over, looking at you. Ayla notices you too. Her cheek, now red from the poison, makes a harsh contrast to the rest of her angelic face. She's ready as well.
You both reach out, and somehow you know what to do. Ayla grabs her ankle. You grab her arm. Veneshia is engulfed in light.
"What? NO! I want a battle! I WANT-"
"You'll get nothing." You whisper.
"HOW?! HOW?!!!"
"The universe doesn't like you, woman. It's been waiting for the right moment. Adam here is its vessel." Ayla hisses.
"Adam?" Veneshia manages, her flesh slowly starting to break apart.
"A god. And my friend."
"No! No, no! You little bitch! You little-"
You punch her head, breaking through it. You feel yourself hit bone, and then that too becomes brittle and gives way. Veneshia vanishes from this world. You notice, with a smile, that your other power has left you as well. You are human again. You might have lost that if you kept fighting. You realize you're sore. Your muscles were no doubt stretched beyond what they could handle in the previous fights. Only the power of the gods must've been holding your body together. You fall to your knees, then against Ayla. Everything goes black, but you hear her- almost in a daze, say "It's over, Adam. Good job", cutting through the darkness.
