Time Traveller
"You must go back, as terrible as it seems," says the Overseer, taking off his glasses in distress, "You will be responsible for either the death of a doctor if you don't or you will be responsible for the death of a Marine if you do."
You climb back into the time machine and set the time clock but before you press the launch code, the professor walks over to the machine where you sit.
"But careful," he says, "For you will be arriving 1 or 2 minutes after you had saved him and you cannot come into contact with yourself or even be seen by yourself."
You click the launch code and arrive instantly at the beach once more. You see yourself helping Johnson and then taking cover from gunfire. Johnson is laying behind a metal chunk. You feel yourself getting nervous not knowing surely if this is something you can do but you will be responsible for the death of not only a doctor but 1000's of others who need this cure he later develope's.
You walk over to where Johnson is lying. Marines are laying wounded and killed as others take cover to not even notice you crawl over to him. You slip out your boot knife and whisper to him. "I'm sorry, but this must be done. May God speed, and be with you."
You take the knife and stab him in a way he dies instantly. You crawl back to the time machine through the gunfire and explosions that impact around you until you finally make it back and get back in, a tear runs down the side of your face for the life you had just laid to rest.
