Fan Fic: Where in the World Is Carmen Sandiego?

You arrive in Georgia, the largest U.S. state in land area east of the Mississippi River. Its capital is Atlanta, home to the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, the busiest airport in the world. This airport accommodates 90 million passengers and almost one million flights per year. Many of these flights are domestic flights from within the United States where Atlanta serves as a major transfer point for flights to and from smaller cities throughout the South. It was named after former Atlanta mayors William Hartsfield, who did much to promote Atlanta air travel, and Maynard Jackson, Atlanta's first African-American mayor, who led efforts to rebuild and modernize the airport.

You ask passersby if they have information on Connor Tist and O'Hare Airport's whereabouts.

"A reliable source told me he saw Connor Tist and O'Hare Airport here in Georgia," says the dog-walker.

You continue wandering the streets for more clues to Connor Tist's whereabouts. Suddenly, someone grabs you by the shoulder and pulls you into an alley.

"Sorry to startle you," says a man wearing a yellow trenchcoat and yellow fedora hat. "The name's Dick. I'm an ACME agent. I'm here to tell you that ACME BugNet has just intercepted a phone conversation between Carmen Sandiego and Connor Tist. Watch."



Connor Tist: "Hey Carmen. I see another huge airport here. How do you feel about me stealing another one?"

Carmen Sandiego: "I have no idea how you can carry one airport around with you, let alone two. There's no sense in risking getting captured. There's already an ACME Sleuth following you around right now. Head to the Darfur region of this African country. It's the largest country on the continent."

Connor: "Darfur? Isn't that where there is so much violence going on right now that more than 230,000 war refugees have fled into the neighboring country of Chad? I'm not sure if that's my thing Carmen."

Sandiego: "That's why it'll be hard for them to find you there. With all the chaos and anarchy going on in the region, you can hide out undetected by those ACME dumbshoes."

Connor: "OK, sweetheart. What Carmen wants, Carmen gets."

Sandiego: "Ugh. Just get to it."



"You got that? Good," Dick grunts. "See you around." As he walks off, he raises his watch to his lips. "I'm on my way," says Dick as he disappears into the alley.
