Pandemic

You decide that it is smarter not to resist arrest. The policeman steps closer and closer to you, but you ignore the feelings of fear and wait. However, he stops about ten feet in front of you and says, "You did well. Many people couldn't handle what you did. You would be a great asset to the citizens of Roanoke if you would join the police force."
"I'm sorry," you stutter. "I am better suited for being a teacher."
"Okay, but if you change your mind, I would be happy to recommend you."
"Thanks."
You walk out of the building into the crisp air. After the terror that had unfolded, you enjoy being outside even more. You realize you must make one more decision for the day.
