The Great Conflict

As you approach the doorway to head back out to the doorway you hear many footsteps. It sounds like many enemy combatants are pouring out into the hallway from all different directions. The hallway serves as a bottleneck so you won't be surrounded by enemy forces but you will still be severely outnumbered. Once you go out there you won't have time to switch weapons mid battle. You have a couple of options of battle. Considering that the clerics have the ability to summon additional combatants, it would be reasonable to assume that they are sending out these troops as sort of a barrier of cannon faughter to absorb your fire and divert your attention. If this is the case, you can go out with your PEAR and mow down all enemy forces in the hallway. With the extremely high velocity of plasma enhanced bullets coming out of the PEAR you will be able to shred right through them. With this strategy though there is always the risk of one of the enemies being able to land an attack before they are felled, but if you shoot indiscriminately it should help to curb this possibility. Considering the number of footsteps you hear and the possibility of a magical ambush, it may be safer for you to send out your IAC. If you take cover at the corner of the room you should be just out of the blast radius and it will go to the end of the hallway and eliminate all enemies in the area regardless of their level of magical protection. With this method you can then explore all the remaining rooms to capture surviving clerics. You just risk not being able to take enough prisoners. The final method is to ambush the enemy. You can wait in the current room and blast enemies as they enter with your energy pistol to paralyze them. This will hit any clerics that enter and make them easy targets for capture. Your only issue with this is that you will be reduced to a low rate of fire but you will be working with the very small bottleneck of a doorway so it is a viable solution. What will it be?
