Spikey refuses to enter the swamp. They may be monsters, but at their base core manticores are still felines and as such don't like wet areas.

You don't have time to "convince" Spikey to follow as the greenskins are closing in. Spikey looks at you for a minute and then merely wanders into another direction. Whether he's killed by the orcs or not isn't your concern anymore, you have to worry about yourself. (Cross him off your profile)

You proceed with your escape, hopefully leaving the greenskins behind.
