Forest Dweller
The corpses look to be exactly the same as the rotting monstrosities in the path to the left. Their scent was unbearable. This gives you an idea. You still can smell the corpses when close enough, and simply this is keeping you from wanting to stay in the place. You go closer and feel an even larger urge to leave. Shuddering, you pick up a corpse and begin to walk out. There is no path out of this place, either, just a large garden wall that surrounds any possible exits. Your only hope is the other room with those... things.
As you exit the corpse comes to life, spasming wildly in pain- probably from the scent. It kicks you in the face and runs to the left- probably its home.
You notice as you enter the left passage that the creatures are busy with the corpse you had with you a few moments ago. They are fighting it madly, you can tell they dislike the scent lingering from the garden. There is a door in the area that looks pretty stuck, but you go up to it and pull on it anyway, almost panicking as you notice that the scent is starting to leave the corpse and they are fighting less and less with it. You pull the door open and run through, shutting it behind you as you feel the many rotten arms beating against the door- not a moment too soon.
Hmm... you're in the forest again. You decide NOT to take the mine this time, for obvious reasons.
