Legend

Its taxing and it dangerous, but you manage to overcome the domination tricks of Azoth.

"No! You shall not possess me demon! I am a favored of the Dark One and you shall suffer his wrath if you attempt to harm me! What you WILL do is grant me power! Afterwards I shall decide whether or not to leave you some place where some lesser born creature can find you with relative ease. Don't do as I say and I'll make sure you won't be found for a very long time and you can rot in your crystal prison for centuries!"

You can sense that Azoth is very angry, but your own will is stronger. He complies and agrees to your terms.

Afterwards you begin to leave.

"HEY! What about our deal human?"
"I'm keeping it. I'm not going to bury this place in a cave-in and I'll leave the trapdoor open. Surely someone will wander down here again in a few years." You nearly laugh.
"…mock me while you can mortal. For the day I am released, not even the Dark One shall be able to protect you from my vengeance!"
"Looking forward to that day. See you then!" you say and walk off.

You leave and explain what happened when you get back to the village. The idiotic villagers are absolutely ecstatic that you solved the "problem" as well as enthralled by your lies about banishing Azoth.

In gratitude they hand you 25 gold pieces in collection and a couple of healing potions. (Restores 6 STAMINA points) You take advantage and even begin preaching a little of the Dark One's philosophy, of course you twist it to make it sound like the One True God's words. These fools have fallen so far from "grace" that they can't even tell the difference anymore.
