You figure that after beating them into submission, the Edolans might be more willing to obey you. You walk up to the rest of them, who looked a little worried.

"Um you're a priest right? I'm guessing you're a follower of Karn you must be, given how you fight."

You begin to explain yourself in a little more detail, but the Edolans are so damn nervous that they really don't care, they just want you to leave them alone. When you start going into the Dark One's philosophy, all of their eyes widen.
"THE DARK ONE! HE'S A FOLLOWER OF THE DARK ONE! RUN AWAY! HE'LL BRING DEMONS UPON US ALL! YAAAAGH!" one of them shouts and all the Edolans run off. In fact they're leaving the village. It would appear that the Edolans know something of the Dark One and quite correctly fear him.
However this doesn't help your cause. You were trying to gain converts, not to mention the Altbergers who were around to hear this outburst will be looking at you with a few sideways glances now. Despite the lack of routine worship and moral laziness lately, most still have a little faith in the One True God.
