Legend

After dispatching the goblins, you find a whopping 2 gold pieces on them. They mentioned something about not letting you in somewhere, so you assume they didn't want you entering the trapdoor in the stone floor near them. The trapdoor is closed, and very locked. The goblins didn't have a key either.

A rogue will have no problem with the lock, neither will a wizard (A simple unlock spell will work) Both of these can be done without making much noise.

A Technologist, Priest or Warrior will have to rely on more forceful means. You'll still get it open, but your actions will undoubtedly cause noise and alert whatever may be lurking down there. However if you happen to have a jar of acid, you may burn off the lock quietly.

Either way you can still turn back and forget about messing around with this altogether and just tell the villagers that it was some goblins skulking about.
