Epic Trek Book 1: Solister

I could barely open my eyelids, not with all the blaring hospital lights that glared down at me. Silhouetted from the blinding glow, men dressed in scrubs murmured amongst themselves; probably they wondered what they were gonna' do with me. Then one of them muffled something from behind his face mask and the others nodded their heads in agreement. God's judgment upon me began. Well, to tell the truth, I've never really believed in God, I was one of those people who stuck to science. But, in this situation, my faith in the omniscient sovereign increased tenfold.



One of the doctors pulled out a needle with a peculiar green liquid floating inside of it. Panic and fear overcame me and my heart rate increased dramatically as the men in scrubs were rushing all over checking monitors and scuffling through what sounded like papers flying all over the place. My body was numb but I was still able to move it so I was struggling to get up; but two of them were holding me down. Then, the man with the needle injected the sickly liquid into my arm and an immense pain ebbed throughout my body.



Then, freezing oblivion took over as all senses failedÂ…
