To Make Magic

Today is September 1st, and you can hardly contain your excitement as you wait rather impatiently on the platform for your parents to catch up - they got caught back in King's Cross Station chatting with Mum's boss, and you weren't about to wait around for them to wrap it up, what with this being the most exciting day in all your 11 years. You stare up with wide eyes at the cherry red steam engine that is the Hogwarts Express, which in less than 30 minutes time will whisk you away to the place you've been dreaming about for as long as you can remember.

Finally your parents catch up with you, and after a long, drawn out goodbye with your teary-eyed mother and a clap on the back and "don't get into too much trouble, yeah?" from your dad, you hop up onto the train. You turn briefly back to wave, grinning, at your parents, before darting off down the train's corridor to find a seat. Thanks to your mum's 20 minutes of reminiscing and crying it looks like most of the compartments have filled up, but there are a few spots left.

On one side is a compartment full of girls giggling over a magazine with moving pictures of a shirtless pop star, flexing and winking up at them.

On the other side is a compartment full of boys climbing all over the seats and throwing balls of paper at each other, yelling and laughing loudly.

Just ahead is an empty compartment, with nothing but some school trunks that wouldn't fit in storage.
