Vampiric Doom
The Catholic Church was founded by the first disciples of Jesus the Christ in the decades after his death and resurrection. The first body of the church was composed of their disciples, mainly gentile Greeks but a few Jews and other members of Rome mixed in.
In the mid-Renaissance the Church founded a secret society dedicated to hunting and killing Vampires. The decision, unknown by many, was made ex cathedra, and was sent by God himself to protect his children. The Eustacians used whatever they could to destroy their prey and were able to until the war in the last couple decades. The Eustacians stand on the precipice of destruction, and this is evident in the Church's inability to help since the war, forced to not help by legislature passed by pro-Vamp politicians.
