Frontier Man

You held in the tears too long, and they burst out. "I didn't mean to! I never had been drunk before. Please forgive me. Don't kill me. Please don't kill me. My parents, my life...I'm only sixteen! Please please please don't kill me."

General Maxwell walks up to you, "Son, you killed a Soldier of the United States Army. I don't care if you were my son, I would still execute you. But I would never execute a man who is such a coward as you. My son would never cry in front of an army and he would never beg for mercy after committing a crime such as you have. Since you have already embarrassed yourself here, I will rethink my decision. You will report to my office tonight." With that he spits in your face and walks away. The two soldiers who escorted you to the gallows escort you back to your cell.

You wait for hours with nothing to do. No one to speak to.

The door of the prison finally opens and the two soldiers who have been escorting you escort you to the General's office. The General is picking his fingernails with a knife behind his desk and the escorts set you in a chair and untie your hands before they leave you and the General alone.

"Mr. Fargo I have reconsidered your sentencing and have another offer for you. I will let you make the decision though. You can return to the gallows tomorrow and hang or you can take me up on my offer. If you take my offer, you must not complain and you must not talk about this outside of my presence. Understood son?"

You nod your head, unable to speak.

"So what'll it be son?"
