You make good use of the comforting bed and instead of contacting the Ranger HQ as you had planned, you fall quickly into a deep sleep. You have troubling dreams and when you awake, all you can remember is being in a deep state of stress. Even right now you feel anxious, but as your thoughts start to come back into form you cannot recognize a cause to your emotion. You then notice there's a knocking at your door.

You go to the door and answer it. It's a Yorilli man, his catlike eyes wide and slimy sweat all over his smooth, green skin. His trunk (like an elephant's but shorter) starts speaking rapid Yorillop and you quickly bust out your translator. After a moment, you start to hear a distinct Human voice over his native tongue.

"You need to come help Ranger! We need you! There's been an accident in the-in the food court!"

You nod in understanding and, grabbing a few of your things, you follow this man running down the hall. You two quickly scale a couple floors and run down a larger hallway, where you pass countless indicators for: Chef's Palace. You see posters of a fat man in a white uniform smiling with impressive plates, underneath the title: "Home of Sukhan's most renowned chef, Parry Bozen!"

As you get closer to the court, you hear many voices getting louder and louder. The screams make you quicken your pace and you pass ahead of the Yorilli man. You enter into the food court, a massive room with many exotic stalls. But that's not what takes your attention right now. It's the fifty or so people lying on the floor. Many more people, many who had been dining with the patrons, are either running away or kneeling down assisting the fallen. Ela'Dehrn staff run amok all over the place.

You run up to the first person you see, an older Jarnee woman. Her eyes are rolled up in her head and green slime oozes from her mouth. An older male Jarnee with red skin stand next to her, tears falling from his eyes as he holds his wife's hand. He looks at you in anticipation as you check her pulse.

Nothing. You shake your head to the man, feeling for him but moving on to the next victim. But to your horror you discover, five more who are also without a pulse. They also all have green slime dripping from their mouths, making them seem very grotesque. You finally come across someone, a dark Human male who does not have any green coming from his mouth. Miraculously, you discover he has a faint pulse and you attempt to rececitate him with your AEDX machine.

You deliver the shock to him and his eyes come back into focus. He leans up and looks dreamily at his surroundings, then at you with question.

"How do you feel?" you ask him.

In response, he begins a fit of deep coughing which ends with him puking a bit of yellow gunk into his hands. As if that's the answer, he looks up at you with long eyes. He then is met by an Ela'Derhn guide, who escorts him to the medical bay. You meanwhile run along to the next fallen body.

All in all, fourty-six people ended up perishing in that cafeteria, you are briefed later in your room by Selena. Sixty-three more are right now in critical condition in the medical bay.

"Pretty much everyone who flew here themselves are trafficking out now. The rest of our guests have been confined to their rooms before transport can be arranged for their departure. Meals will be individually provided by the Ela'Derhn staff. Again, I'm so sorry about this. This is a terrible tragedy and very embarassing for us."

You pace your room. After the scene, you immediately ran back here and made contact with HQ to bring them up to speed. They asked if you needed assistance but you declined, still feeling confident in your assignment. Now you look at Selena and she flashes those brilliant blues back at you.

"I still have access to this facility don't I?" you ask her.

She frowns, but then shakes her head. "Well no, not anymore. I'm sorry but we've hosted you with the understanding that you are a privileged guest, not that you are a staff member. Until we can get to the bottom of this, you need to remain in your room like everyone else."

She meets your hard glance. "Or leave," she finishes.

"How do you expect me to investigate if I'm confined to my room?" you ask coldly. "This is ridiculous."

She scoffs at you. "Oh, so just because you're a Ranger you think you're cleverer than anyone else, is that it? Perhaps if we were negotiating a trade war with the Conglomart viceroy this would be different, but we're not. This is OUR facility, let us investigate OUR way."

You look at her for a long time, her eyes daring yours to blink first. Finally, you give a fake sigh and say "Guess it's your show Selena. I'll sit back in front of this tube and munch on some popcorn."

She nods, although you can tell she is very suspicious of you (as she should be), and then shuts the door. You hear some button clicking on the other side and then a metallic voice announces: "Room Under Authorized Lock. All Exits Sealed."

Selena should have known better than to try and confine a Ranger. What should you do now?
