As the scalpel approaches the corner of mold you intend to take, a strange auditory phenomena begins to occur. You can hear white noise occurring, something that shouldn't be able to occur within M-5434's atmosphere.
You do your best to ignore the phenomenon and continue with your extrication of the sample. For a moment, as the knife cuts through the fabric of the mold, the sound becomes nearly overwhelming.
However, the moment you pull the piece away, the sound recedes.
You stand frozen for a long moment after you retrieve the sample, unsure of what to make of what just happened. Eventually, you decide that it's not something for you to worry about.
You open a small compartment in your wrist and deposit the sample inside, closing the compartment door behind it.
