Catharsis of Cthulhu

You are worried that the scientist's current location is not sufficiently safe for them to be alone while you attempt to run further tests on the mold outside the ship. So, you suggest to move them to a safer location and Doctor Hall readily accepts. The negative reactions of Dahlik and John don't seem to matter to him.

You have Dahlik and John position themselves on opposite sides of Hall and put him arms around their shoulders. You lead them down the bloody damaged halls toward the heart of the ship. You only find a meager resistance as you move through the halls. You worry that the 78 crew members that were roused from their decades long sleep just a few hours ago may already be depleted to such a degree that they can no longer muster a great force of attack.

It takes the better part of half an hour, but you eventually arrive safely at the ship's Engine Room. The room has only one entry way and the walls are as thick as the bulkhead to prevent explosions or exhaust from escaping into other bays. You determine it to be more than sufficient in protective measures.

Once inside, you settle Doctor Hall against the far wall. You make no comment, but you noticed that Doctor John seemed extremely nervous during your trek and often reacted to optical anomalies that only he seemed to be experiencing. Dahlik also worried you, her silence tense and her rage a nearly permeable feeling in the air. You worried for Doctor Hall.

Shortly after settling themselves in the Engine Room, Dahlik begins to bite into John, decrying his cowardice and his slow speed in the halls. You do not waste their distraction.

"Doctor Hall, I should only be gone a short while," you whisper, aware that Doctor Hall has to struggle to keep his eyes focused on you. "Please take this," you say, proffering a small pistol you picked up on your journey. "and try to stay awake," you advise.
