"Hey," you tell her as you walk around the desk, being sure to make eye contact with her. "Sorry about that... We're not the bad guys here..." you look down at her nametag, ashamed you didn't quite catch her name before. "Valerie... We just really need a room. It's important stuff..."
"Matter of life and death?" she asks.
"We don't have time for this!" Knox barks.
You maintain your eye contact with Valerie. Gently, you reach for the phone and find that she places it in your hands. "You have honest eyes," she tells you with a nervous smile.
You reply with a smile as you hand the phone to Ione. "Take care of this," you tell her, still locking eyes with Valerie. "Thank you for listening to me, Valerie... Now, about that room..."
"Right away," she says, going to work on the computer. "Smith... Party of four."
You flash a smile at your crew from over Valerie's shoulder. Mercy smiles back while Knox still manages to look unimpressed.
"I've got you down for Room 19," Valerie says just as the phone in your pocket begins to rumble.
How do you respond?
