Hall of Infinite Doors
"How come you aren't being affected by the heat?" You ask, coming closer towards the suspicious looking female.
"Come closer..." Her light, soft voice echoes across the landscape, reaching many miles away, even though her voice is similair to a small child's whisper.
You soon come to realize, sweat is dripping off of you like pools, it feels like someone has poured a whole bucket of warm water all over your body, but stickier. You attempt to rush over to her, attractive she may be, your life is under risk of over-dehydration, you cannot waste your time chasing after something you cannot have.
"Quickly.." The girl urges.
You grunt in pain as your arms fail you and swing by your side, and your spine slouches over slightly, you can't make it, your legs are bending, your muscles are in pain, your eyes are flaring and the sweat is making your pants stick to your bottom half. As you near her, she begins to slowly fade away, as if teasing you. Perhaps this is just a mirage projected by your brain to make you feel better. But it does nothing but tease you, no food, no water, no shade, nothing but an abandoned wasteland.
You push on through the tame green grass which seems to have been cut recently. Though you are oblivious to this fact. You want to know where she went...And how she got here....If 'she' even existed.
Though she has gone, you no longer care. You have discovered something aberrant.
A bucket of water surrounded by spectacular, variegated flowers. Icicles are latched onto every place of the wooden bucket, and icecubes lay blissfully on the bottom. You stare in shock, though your features haven't been changed, you're still consumed within tiredness' full power. You no longer believe in the bucket. It's nothing to you, nothing but a mirage caused by your lost conscience, or subconscience. It doesn't matter. As you begin to lose faith in the bucket, it begins to disappear, as if by your will.
'Faith will get you far...What you believe to be reality is your decision...'
The voice whispers into your right ear. You turn, to see nothing but the woodlands.
You grunt soundly, what could the voice have meant?
