Time was wasting, even while she stood there thinking about it, so she decided to cut through the woods. A few wild animals weren't anything she couldn't handle. Jezirea packed up her things, and bought a few last minutes supplies before saying good bye to the sleepy little town of Fernsdale.
She set out on the journey mid-morning. The day was fresh and clear, perfect for travelling and it wasn't long before she found herself in the woods, with nothing but the few rays of the sun that peaked through the canopy to guide her on her journey.
The forest smelled warm and calm, and there was the ever present sound of chirping birds and other chattering animals, always moving away from her as she walked through the woods, but never too far away. She'd been walking through the forest without rest for a couple hours at this point, long enough for the sounds and smells to blend in and become white noise. It was with a start that she suddenly realized the forest had gone silent.
Jezirea stopped and very carefully took stock of her surroundings. Nothing seemed amiss. She could see no animals nearby, though that didn't preclude the possibility that one could be stalking her at this very moment. She continued on, this time making an effort to move slowly and silently, taking cover in the shadow of each tree she passed.
