Surfing the 4th Dimension
"Sounds killer baby!" John grins. "Why didn't you say so in the first place?"
"Guess I just forgot," you say.
"So, do you want my interview before or after the set?" John asks, "Because I can tell you now, I'm gonna be bigger than Elvis, no question about it."
You smile to yourself.
"I do have one question before you go on," you say. "You think The Quarrymen will get famous?"
"Yeah, sure."
"What about any other bands planned?"
"Nah," John swigs from his bottle of beer. "Couldn't leave Pete Shotton and his washboard behind, could I?"
You speak with The Quarrymen for some time, and walk with them to the church and on the way out you bump into a young boy.
"Sorry," you say.
"It's OK, mate," he says. You notice for the first time he's clutching a guitar.
"Hey, are you in The Quarrymen?" you ask, motioning to the guitar.
"Oh, no," he smiles, "I'm trying out."
"Well, I hope you get in!" you say.
"Me too," he says. Then, as an afterthought, he adds, "My name's Paul. Paul McCartney."
You leave Woolton Village Fete feeling elated and excited. Mike and Peggy smile at you as you enter the time machine.
"You ready for another adventure?"
