What Non-Western story do you belong in?

You belong in a traveling/nature story.

Nature is beautiful and peaceful. Nothing is more calming that shedding your civil skin and going out into nature to transcend into the universe. Traveling and nature stories have been the topic of enlightenment for centuries.

Basho's Narrow Road of the Interior is a semi-autobiography about a man who leaves behind all of his goods and belongings, and heads out into the world on horseback with his companion, Sora. Along the way, Basho writes haiku about everything he sees and feels.

Western examples of nature and traveling stories include The Road and Henry David Thoreau's Walden. Walden is a story about a man becoming one with the universe and The Road follows a father and son as they find "home" in their post-apocalyptic world. Nature/traveling stories involve leaving one's self-image behind in order to understand the world and the way it works.
